We are always on the lookout for great paintings! ...and up to this day, we still haven't found the right painting with the right color and at the right size to fit our giant wall in the great room ... No rush though!
Spring break is almost over! Yes, I am excited to clear out the patio table where G1 and G2 sneaked inside the house so they can complete their artwork entry for a school competition. At last! No more clutter on acrylic paints and brushes in the dining area!
We've brainwashed our teens to be either a pharmacist or nurse one day. We are focused on enforcing in their young minds the value of higher education and financial independence that we are so pleased that at a young age they already know what they want and how much they would like to earn.
For us, education first and everything else is a hobby - -- and this applies in relation to their passion for art.
Both G1 and G2 are taking art classes and they are entering a school art competition this year. Currently their entries are 98% completed and as I looked at their work (clinging to our windows being dried now) what started to be as a hobby may have a potential of turning into something bigger (No..not external big time exhibits ! We're not there yet.... but at least for our naked walls)
Wow...the girls have talents!
So I have commissioned them to create acrylic paintings for three bedrooms!
It's a win- win situation! We'll maximize their talent and save cost in decorating!
Girls will enjoy making money this summer at a hobby they love!(We haven't settled on a price yet). Mom will get the artwork economically (with bragging rights when visitors take a nickel tour of our house) and most importantly more money towards the girls savings fund (where we enforce placing 50% of their income to savings). Can't wait!
