If I am now on a first name basis with the breakroom cleaning staff, is this an indication that I have become a coffee junkie? Or am I just friendly?
Today, I placed a timer on my activities and have noted for the most part in my daily routine - - I do take six cups a day! Am I a slave to this coffee phenomenon (note that only the type of meetings change everyday) that Dr. D hubby bought me not one but two sets of Gevalia personal brewer system in the last 2 years (not to mention starbucks cards with matching thermal mugs).

Belinda Coffee Check
Morning:
- 6:23 am - First cup before the shower
- 8:05 am - Second cup from the small breakroom
- Bolted at my desk till 8:58 am to spend quality time in my email
- Now I am perked up for my 9:00 am meeting with marketing team
Mid Morning:
- 10:28am - Third cup with granola bar and white chocolates to satisfy my grumbling stomach
- Rushing to the next building for another meeting till 12:00am
Afternoon:
- 12:20pm: Took my Fourth cup to go with my dark chocolates
- Got to go back to my office to prepare for the 2:00 meeting with data team
- 3:15 pm: Passed by the big break room....so why not take the Fifth cup on my way back to my office
- Till 5:00 pm: Catching up on emails and more paperwork
Evening:
- 6:00pm : Dinner
- 6:30pm : I feel guilty so I substituted the Sixth cup for decaf version and Belgian chocolates
NOW LET'S JUSTIFY MY MADNESS WITH GEEKY LINGO:
o Visit USDA nutrient database and you will find that 8 ounce cup of coffee or 1.00 X 1 cup (8 fl oz) or 237g brewed from grounds using tap water has ONLY TWO (Awesome!) calories. (Derived from tiny portion of protein and oils). Cool Beans huh!
o Check this article: Coffee: The New Health Food?http://men.webmd.com/features/coffee-new-health-food - If I may quote and unquote a paragraph - 'Coffee, the much maligned but undoubtedly beloved beverage, just made headlines for possibly cutting the risk of the latest disease epidemic, type 2 diabetes. And the real news seems to be that the more you drink, the better." - YES...now they're talking!
IS IT ME OR AM I JUST BEING FRIENDLY? Going back to my side question.... I know that taking things in moderation is the best approach in life! I am Asian and by genetic default, I am at high risk of potentially having osteoporosis one day...so the more that I should consider reducing coffee consumption while increasing my daily dose of calcium.
GUESS WHAT: There is a small chance that I will be brainstorming with the breakroom cleaning lady on corporate strategies - -so why not take advantage on this special coffee stops to share a friendly hello and thank her for taking great care of the counters where they hostage the coffee cups and stirrers.... So Squeeky Clean!
