I love holidays! It's my official time to catch up on chores and some cooking. I woke up at 6:30 fidgeting my fingers while staring blankly at the freezer -- Is it fish, chicken or veggies - hmmm!
It's still early, so I grabbed and cooked some spanish sausage with the plan to start the long weekend with a great breakfast consists of fried eggs, sausage, fried rice and muffins!
Bu then, as the aroma of sausage enveloped the kitchen, memories of how our maids will prepare a spanish brunch every weekend motivated me to copy their weekend treat
Tapas are usually served as an appetizer (in combination with sausage, cheese platter and bruchetta) but in my world, it remains to be a breakfast dish serves best with brown rice and fried egg. Here's how:
1 lb beef sirloin
salt
pepper
olive oil
onion powder
onion / spring onions
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp lemon juice
steak seasoning (optional)
Estimate Cost: $5 - $6 (serves 4-5)
STEP 1:
Cut beef in strips. Season with salt, pepper, onion powder, steak seasoning.
Stir fry in olive oil for 5 minutes. Add soy sauce. lemon juice and onion
STEP 2:
Cook for another 5 minutes and serve with rice
Of course, while I am cooking on the other side, my sous chef has the brown rice covered on his side. What? 2 hours for the rice? Can you please read the manual?
