I got my US passport -YEAH! To celebrate - -we are having hamburger and fries for lunch -- you know --the all time american food (one teen is frowning at me --like duh - -"all time junkfood" she said). I can't remember the last time we ate at Mc Donalds - -definitely its more than 4 years!
Oh well, with teens who are forever dieting, here's a healthy alternative recipe that got their seal of approval
HERE'S HOW:
1 lb ground beef
1 cup quick cooking oatmeal
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp steak seasoning
1 egg
- Combine all ingredients
- Mold mixture using measuring cup (use 1/2 cup and flatten on the pan)
- Fry on both sides until golden brown for 5-7 minutes
- Bake for 3 minutes at 350 degrees with one cheddar slice on top each burger
- Serve on on top of hamburger bun
