I was so worried about my family so I called my brother the other day and learned that his first floor was flooded with water (BREAK TIME: Tribute to Philippine Typhoon Victim). Yikes..living room and kitchen were damaged.... even his car was under water - - oh no! Thankfully, they're safe and we're grateful that mom's place is not along the riverside that were affected.
For some of you who has read my previous blogs, we are psychotic about investing and saving today so we can afford a comfortable lifestyle when we retire in Asia 10 years from now. However, it makes us reconsider the areas we want to eventually relocate as some of the newer subdivisions that we have viewed earlier was affected by the flood.
Hmmm......it makes me wonder - is there a safe place nowadays? Where and how much will it cost us 10 years from now....
