"Shawarma" - a Middle Eastern sandwich - like wrap is one of my favorites! A colleague of mine recently discovered a small hole in the wall family owned diner where they only serve shawarma and I can't wait to try them as I practically grew up eating those yummy sandwiches.
I am tempted to mimic the flavor as I have the basic ingredients in my freezer - -but naahh-- my friend Cat (the jet setting Filipina who is surely shopping again in those ginormous Middle East malls) will surely nag me at Facebook if I don't get it right. For now..I'll just make my tried and tested open faced roast beef sandwich that we enjoy...
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups shaved roast beef (cut into strips)
1/2 onion
1/2 green bell pepper
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp olive oil
salt and pepperHERE'S HOW:
- Cook onion in olive oil . Add green bell pepper and continue cooking for 3 minutes
- Add roast beef and soy sauce and cook for another 3 minutes
