5 Things To Help You Start Losing Weight
Summer can easily be anyone’s favorite season of the year. Everyone is set to go out and enjoy the Sun. Sure it’s fun, but won’t it be a lot better if you can take awesome photos with friends to remember your trip? Getting that perfect summer body can be a bit challenging, specially when trying to get that extra weight off.
Here are five things that you can start immediately to get that summer bod you’ve always wanted. Erm… well at least lose that extra pound hanging around that belly. 😉
1. Eat smaller portions.
Eating smaller portions will immediately cut down your caloric intake. You may cut it in half or just a part of your usual serving of whatever you usually eat. It doesn’t matter! What’s important is that you’ve started cutting down excessive in take of calories that you don’t need. By doing this you are already starting your journey in creating a calorie deficiency.
2. Eat Slowly.
More than savoring each bite of your food, eating slowly actually satisfies you hunger better. Eating slower lets your brain actually think that you’ve eaten enough.
3. Use Your Feet More Often
Walk and use the stairs more often. Put your self in a more active lifestyle. Each step that you take helps you burn that calorie from the last meal that you’ve taken. Instead of taking your car to your neighborhood store, why not just walk or take the bike if it is a bit farther.
4. Avoid Juices and Soft Drinks (Carbonated drinks, soda) and Sugar
At this point colas having excessive amounts of sugar should be common knowledge. Remember that you tube video you saw? Yep all of those are sugar. Each tablespoon of sugar gives you 48 calories and you drinking that one can of coke already takes 233 calories off of your daily energy allowance. Also, the acid in carbonated drinks actually expand your stomach. This makes it harder for you be satisfied even after a huge amount of food intake. Yes that is why you eat more with carbonated drinks, it makes your stomach bigger -literally.
On the other hand, thinking that you are actually making a better choice, you decide to drink fruit juices instead. To be fair, that move is commendable in your effort to avoid carbonated drinks. However, there’s one thing that you might have overlook. Fruit juices or bottled juices usually has high sugar and high calorie content. Though it is a better choice than sodas choosing a drink with lower sugar and calorie content will give you better results. Water is always the best choice for hydration. But if you crave of drinking something that tastes, I usually resort to Del Monte’s Fit and Right, not only it has low calorie count but also has L-Carnitine that helps you burn calories.
5. Coffee For Breakfast
One of the benefit of taking coffee is that it raises your metabolism. So why not start your day with a cup? Replacing your heavy breakfast with coffee helps you manage your calorie intake for the day. Some call this intermittent fasting. This makes your body burn more of the stored energy in your body (in the form of fats), Since you had so much surplus for your calorie intake you can easily satisfy your night cravings. Studies show that most of diets fail because of night cravings compromising the entire day’s effort.
These are a few of the steps I personally have tried to be effective that a normal guy or maybe a normal girl can easily do to start losing weight. The key here is to lower down your calorie on a daily basis. This will make your body think that it is experiencing calorie deficiency. When this happens, your body will then turn to its stored fats for its energy requirements. Remember that fats are calories/energy that your body stores if thinks it has more than what it needs.
