I grew up knowing only two brands of milk - - Carnation and Alaska. Back in the days, we don't have the milk in those fancy gallons lined up at the chiller aisle accessible to us. IF you want a liquid milk - -the canned version (either evaporated or condensed) is your option - -so it's either you buy the canned version or have the maid go to the market to get fresh cow's milk. Of course - -later on I realized that there is the carton version but maybe we just don't get it ?
As a kid, my favorite breakfast was chocolate porridge (champorado - made of sticky rice with sugar and Hershey's chocolate) ...and this is why I am familiar with Carnation's Evaporated milk - - as I grew up placing the milk on top of my porridge almost every day!
Tonight, I wanted to create a new dessert yet I am not bold enough to play with the unknown. We love cream cheese so we thought of mimicking the happy feeling we get when we savour the taste of Eli's Chocolate Chip Cheesecake by being creative and making use of Oreo, Cream Cheese and Carnation Evaporated milk (take note - -Fat Free version says the teen holding the can)
